Mega Backdoor Roth

Strategies

An advanced 401(k) strategy that allows participants to contribute after-tax dollars beyond the standard employee deferral limit, then convert those funds to a Roth account for tax-free growth. This can enable contributions of up to the total 415(c) limit (minus employee deferrals and employer contributions). It requires a plan that allows after-tax contributions and in-plan Roth conversions or in-service distributions.
