Deferral Contribution

Contributions

The portion of a worker's salary they choose to "defer" or contribute directly into their retirement plan, reducing their current taxable income (for pre-tax deferrals) or made with after-tax dollars for tax-free growth (for Roth deferrals). In a Solo 401(k), this is also called the employee contribution and is subject to annual limits.
