Graded Vesting

Vesting

A vesting schedule where an employee gradually gains ownership of employer contributions over several years of service. A common six-year graded schedule grants 20% ownership after two years, increasing by 20% each year until reaching 100% after six years. This provides more incremental ownership than cliff vesting.
