Prototype Plan

Plan Types

A standardized, pre-approved retirement plan document provided by a financial institution, which has already received IRS approval for its basic structure. Employers can adopt a prototype plan by completing an adoption agreement that selects from available options. This approach is simpler and less expensive than creating a custom non-prototype plan.
